Happy Birthday Anime-Link

Anime Link celebrates it's first birthday today.
In the early 2007 I started a blog with Direct Downloads to rmvb of naruto and bleach episodes, driven by the idea that me and my friend would run the blog into a very successful one.
After my friend abondon me by not keeping his word of helping me, I stopped updating the blog for almost a year.
In the late 2007 arround October, I started to update the blog again on my own, with a filosophy of giving the visitors the episodes only in it's best quality(by then there was no HD yet).
At the begining of February 2008, I saw that the best thing to do to make my blog a success was to turn it into a forum, I searched wasy to make a forum, and ended up registering at forumotion the site http://forum.anime-link.net .
After a month and a half of developing, the site was up and running with its own domain already http://www.anime-link.net

I had the idea of preparing a special gift for Anime-Link fans, but due to lack of time, we werent able to prepare what we wanted, but since I'm a nice guy for the curious I will be reveiling a little bit of my identity for you.

My name is Sérgio I am Portuguese, I was born in the north of the country at the year of 1988.
Right now I'm at University studing Electronic engeneerings, and also working with my father on the IT industry. I work with computers since I was 3 years old, my first interaction with a computer was with MS-DOS, and it remained like that for many years, until finally Windows 3.1 was out.
I do not recall this well, but it is very likely that the very first game I played was "BARRAS" a MS-DOS quiz game ( I remember I played it a lot in my mother´s lap)
From all the games I ever played until today, the one that marked me most besides "BARRAS" was Final Fantasy 7, my long lost best friend showed me the game, and we spent hours and hours together playing...happy times.
My first contact with Anime was DragonBall, as I sayd in some previous thread, I whatched dragon for the first time when I didnt even knew how to speak...my grandfather says I stared at the screen like if I was understanding what was happening while the episode was on air.
After whatching tons of anime in my Portuguese TV without knowing the existence of the word "Anime" (for me, like to any other cartoon was allways a cartoon...i didnt knew what "anime was"...) while I was browsing the internet I ended up on a site that had naruto movie 1 and 2 to download. I saw them, and was amazed. After that I started to uncover the beatifull world of Anime.


To end up this little happy birthday thread, I would like to say thanks to some people:

My father - Some of you know, most of you don't know. My father is the one that owns the server, and I am thankfull for him to have registered a domain for me, and for borrowing me space at his server. Oh! and of course I wanna thank him for sticking his (you know) in my mom's (you know) this way making me come to the world!

JP - If god has a right hand, and if I am god, then JP is God's right hand. I wanna thank him, because he had been my support at the begining. Unlike my friend who bailed on duty when I started the blog, JP allways stood up for the site at the begining, he was the one that helped me creating all that you see, without him, I most likely had given up right before I started.(even with his time lacking he sometimes come here to upload for us) Thx JP

Karen - A 15 years old girl whom I "tortured" so that she could become a mod. She was the first one that I "hired" after JP.
Although her tender age, she is a very smart girl with a very nice set of ideals, that's why I hired her to the job of Naruto's mod, I wanna thank her for everything she did for the site, and for enduring all of my mood...xD
Thanks to her, I also got to know a little more about people from canada.

MIHAWK ; TJK - To these people I owe my thanks for helping me with some random stuff, mihawk helped me with coding and borrowed me space on his server, and TJK made some banners.

Kelvin ; Fatboy ; Adriano ; Spiderspan - These are the more recent people that work for the sake of the site, I want to mention these people exactly for that reason, I want to thank you all for working allways to make the site a better place, when I'm not arround I allways know that I can count on you guys.

ALL Anime-Link Members - Of course I have to thank all the participants in this community, without you visiting, and sharing your comments/thoughts with us there was no purpose for us to work. Thank you all Anime-Link.net members , I'm very happy that I am the admin of this place.

It's definitely a long way to get where we are now! I know all the hard works and the time spend on to make this possible! Trust me, I know because I used to own a website.
